Cochise Women's Basketball to Host Conference Play-In Game Wednesday Night at The Stronghold
DOUGLAS, Ariz. — Cochise College Women's Basketball will host a pivotal ACCAC conference play-in game this Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cochise Stronghold Gymnasium, facing College of Southern Nevada with a Region I Semifinal berth on the line.
The play-in matchup was determined by conference officials following a rare three-way tie in the ACCAC standings. Cochise, Central Arizona College, and Southern Nevada each finished conference play at 6–9, forcing the league to implement a tiebreaker procedure.
As part of that process, Central Arizona College won a coin toss, earning the opportunity to travel directly to Arizona Western College for one semifinal matchup. The winner of Wednesday's game between Cochise and Southern Nevada will advance to face No. 1 seed Eastern Arizona College on Saturday, March 7 in Thatcher, Arizona, in the other NJCAA Region I Semifinal.
For Cochise, Wednesday's contest represents both opportunity and momentum. The Apaches closed the regular season with a strong road win at Yavapai College, finishing 10–20 overall and 6–9 in conference play, and now return home with postseason implications on the line.
Southern Nevada also enters with a 6–9 conference mark, setting up a decisive rematch between two evenly matched programs.
Admission Information
There will be no entry fee for Wednesday's game, as it is officially classified as a regular season contest by the conference. Fans are encouraged to pack The Stronghold and support the Apaches as they battle for a semifinal berth.
Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. in Douglas.
