Cochise falls at Central Arizona in conference road matchup
COOLIDGE, Ariz. — Cochise College Women's Basketball came up short on the road Wednesday night, falling 88–63 to Central Arizona College in ACCAC conference action.
The loss moves the Apaches to 5–15 overall and 1–4 in conference play.
Cochise showed strong stretches offensively through three quarters, trailing just 42–33 at halftime and matching Central Arizona with 26 points in the third quarter to stay within striking distance. However, the Cougars pulled away in the fourth, outscoring Cochise 21–4 to close the game.
Gaby Oliver led all Apaches with 24 points on 10-of-25 shooting, while Noa Mikami added 12 points, including two three-pointers. Malika Goutay posted a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, and sophomore center Lesline Penge contributed eight rebounds in limited minutes.
Freshman Cecy Burruel finished with eight points and three assists, while Hannah Dibadjou added four points and five rebounds.
Cochise won the rebounding battle 42–37, but turnovers proved costly, as the Apaches committed 24, which Central Arizona converted into 28 points. The Cougars also connected on 13 three-pointers, helping create separation late.
Central Arizona was led by Tianna Knighton with 26 points, while Jordis Reisner added 14 and Ella Reisner finished with 11.

Cochise returns home this Saturday, January 24, to host Yavapai College in Douglas, Arizona. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Cochise Stronghold Gymnasium.
