Cochise Tops Trinidad State for Third Win of the Season
YUMA, Ariz. — The Cochise College Women's Basketball team returned to the win column on Saturday afternoon, defeating Trinidad State College (Colorado) 65–56 in a neutral-site matchup at Arizona Western College. The victory snapped a three-game skid and lifted the Apaches to 3–6 overall.
Cochise came out strong, outscoring Trinidad State 17–10 in the opening quarter and maintaining control throughout the first half with efficient ball movement and defensive rebounding. The Apaches led 31–26 at halftime and held off a late push from the Trojans with clutch free-throw shooting and timely scoring inside.
Freshman Cecy Burruel paced Cochise with 20 points, knocking down midrange jumpers and getting to the line consistently, where she went 4-for-6. Freshman forward Hannah Dibadjou delivered another all-around effort with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Lesline Penge anchored the interior with 15 rebounds, 5 points, and 4 blocks, keeping Trinidad State off balance around the rim.
Freshman guard Gaby Oliver added 9 points and 7 rebounds, while freshman Noa Mikami chipped in 10 points and several key assists in transition. As a team, Cochise shot 43% from the field, including a strong 48% in the second half, while holding Trinidad State to 35% shooting and forcing 19 turnovers.
The win gives Cochise momentum heading into a tough December road test against one of the nation's top programs.

Cochise (3–6) travels to Levelland, Texas on Thursday, December 5, to face South Plains College. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM MST.
