2nd Annual Cochise Women’s Basketball Classic Set for November 14–15 in Douglas

DOUGLAS, Ariz. — The red and black will be on full display in mid-November as the 2nd Annual Cochise Women's Basketball Classic tips off Friday, November 14, and Saturday, November 15 inside the Cochise Stronghold Gymnasium on the Douglas campus. The event features the host Cochise College Apaches and three ACCAC rivals: Eastern Arizona College, Mesa Community College, and Phoenix College — four strong programs all competing at the NJCAA Division I level.

Tournament Schedule

Friday, Nov. 14
• 4:00 PM — Mesa vs. Eastern Arizona
• 6:00 PM — Cochise vs. Phoenix

Saturday, Nov. 15
• 1:00 PM — Phoenix vs. Eastern Arizona
• 3:00 PM — Cochise vs. Mesa

What Fans Can Expect

This two-day showcase brings high-level NJCAA women's basketball to Douglas early in the regular season. Eastern Arizona continues to be a perennial contender in Region I, while Phoenix College brings one of the region's most respected backcourts. Mesa Community College adds depth to a competitive field and will look to build momentum against familiar conference opponents.

For Cochise, the Classic provides a valuable early-season test for a fast and athletic roster under head coach Misty Opat, who has guided the program to multiple national tournament appearances.
