Women's Basketball season comes to an end with a loss in the Region Semifinal

THATCHER, Ariz. --- The Cochise Women's Basketball season came to an abrupt end Saturday evening, with a 42-60 loss to the 16th-ranked Eastern Arizona College Gila Monsters in the NJCAA Region 1 Semifinal. 

The Apaches and Gila Monsters were neck-and-neck throughout the entire first half of the game in Thatcher, with Cochise holding a close 24-22 lead at halftime. Eastern Arizona came out of the break storming to a 22-9 run over the Apaches and did not look back from there, as a 17-9 run in the fourth quarter, secured a semifinal win for Eastern Arizona. Sophomore Jessie Joaquim led Cochise with 13 points and 11 rebound, for her final double-double of her Apache career. Karolina followed with 11 points and six rebounds.

Cochise Women's Basketball finished their 2025 campaign with a final overall record of 20-10 and 12-5 conference record. The Apaches finished 3rd overall in the ACCAC DI Conference.
