Cochise Rodeo Dominates at Home with Strong Showing at Wren Arena
FORT HUACHUCA, AZ — Competing on home ground, the Cochise College Rodeo Team delivered an impressive performance at the Cochise College Rodeo, held March 28–29 at the historic Wren Arena in Fort Huachuca.
In front of a supportive home crowd, the Apaches turned in multiple top finishes across events, highlighted by four individual event champions and several additional podium placements over the two-day rodeo.
Weekend Aggregate Results (Two-Day Total)
Steer Wrestling
- Taten Erickson captured the event title, finishing 1st overall.
Tie Down Roping
- Cason Scouten led the field with a 1st-place finish, adding another championship for Cochise.
Bull Riding
- Braulio Barraza continued his dominant spring, taking 1st place overall.
Team Roping
- Teran Broderson secured a 2nd-place finish in the aggregate.
- The duo of Taten Erickson and Walker Story also competed in the short round after placing 4th in the long go.
Saddle Bronc Riding
- Teran Broderson added to his standout weekend with a 2nd-place finish.
Goat Tying
- Sealey Bottom placed 2nd overall.
- Macie Fowlie advanced to the short round after splitting the long go win.
- Alexia Guzman also competed strongly, placing 4th/5th in the long go.
Breakaway Roping
- Macie Fowlie added a 5th-place finish to her weekend results.
Barrel Racing
- Kylynn Bryson turned in a solid performance, finishing 4th overall.
Additional Top Performances
Several Apaches placed inside the top 10 and advanced to Sunday's short round, contributing to the team's overall success:
- Teran Broderson – 7th in long go, Tie Down Roping
- Rylee McRoberts – 9th in long go, Tie Down Roping
Looking Ahead
The Cochise College Rodeo Team now shifts its focus to the next stop in the 2026 NIRA Grand Canyon Region spring schedule, traveling to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on April 10–11.
