Teron Murray Named ACCAC Co-Player of the Week After Breakout Performances
DOUGLAS, Ariz. — Cochise College freshman guard Teron Murray has been named the ACCAC Conference Co-Player of the Week following a pair of standout performances that helped spark the Apaches during a pivotal stretch of conference play.
Murray delivered his best game of the season on Jan. 17 against Eastern Arizona College, pouring in a game-high 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting, including 3-of-4 from three-point range, while logging 36 minutes in Cochise's 83–71 conference victory. He also added three rebounds, two assists, and two steals, consistently attacking off the dribble and providing a scoring punch that separated the Apaches in the second half.
Earlier in the week, Murray was again productive in Cochise's matchup against Arizona Western College, scoring 13 points and converting 9-of-10 free throws in limited minutes. He finished that game with four rebounds, one assist, and one steal, showing efficiency and composure at the line while helping keep the Apaches within striking distance throughout the contest.
Across the two games, Murray averaged 19.5 points, shot 55.6 percent from the field, and went a combined 12-for-16 at the free-throw line, emerging as one of the most consistent offensive threats in the conference during the week.
The ACCAC honor marks Murray's first Player of the Week recognition of his collegiate career and highlights his rapid development as a key contributor in Cochise's backcourt rotation.
Cochise continues conference play Wednesday night when the Apaches travel to Central Arizona College for a 7:30 p.m. tip in Casa Grande.
