Emmanuel Joe Samuel Named ACCAC Player of the Week
Douglas, Ariz. — Cochise College men's basketball sophomore guard Emmanuel Joe Samuel has been named the ACCAC Conference Player of the Week following a standout stretch of performances during the past week of competition.
Samuel was instrumental in Cochise's offensive success over multiple games, highlighted by a dominant showing against AZ Sol Post Grad, where he poured in a season-high 28 points, connecting on 7 three-pointers while adding 7 rebounds and multiple steals. His perimeter shooting and pace-setting offense helped fuel one of the Apaches' most efficient performances of the season.
During the Chapman Automotive Winter Classic in Yuma, Samuel continued to make his presence felt on both ends of the floor. He finished with double-figure scoring performances, including an 11-point effort against Dawson College, where he knocked down a clutch three-pointer in the final seconds to give Cochise a chance to steal the game. He also contributed defensively throughout the week, recording key rebounds, steals, and deflections while guarding multiple positions.
Across the week, Samuel consistently stretched defenses with his shooting range, showed poise in high-pressure moments, and played a key role in Cochise's ball movement and spacing as the Apaches faced a challenging slate of opponents.
The ACCAC honor is the latest recognition for Samuel, who has emerged as one of the conference's most dangerous perimeter threats and a central piece of Cochise's offensive attack.
Cochise men's basketball returns to action today in Yuma, Arizona, as part of the Chapman Holiday Classic hosted by Arizona Western College.
