Apaches Dominate AZ Sol, Improve to 7–2 with Season-High 112 Points
Douglas, Ariz. — Cochise College men's basketball delivered its most dominant performance of the season Tuesday night, overpowering AZ Sol Post Grad 112–51 in front of the home crowd at Stronghold Gymnasium. The victory pushes the Apaches to 7–2 overall, marking their fifth win in six games and another offensive showcase inside the paint.
Cochise set the tone early, exploding for 54 first-half points while shooting a blistering 57% from the field. The Apaches' balance and unselfish play fueled a wire-to-wire performance in which 12 players scored and five reached double figures. The team finished the night shooting 56.3% overall and 33% from three, while also recording 28 assists on 45 made field goals.
Freshman guard Emmanuel Jo Samuel led all scorers with 20 points, hitting four three-pointers in just 20 minutes of action. Point guard Jhace Johnson orchestrated the offense masterfully, scoring 15 points on 6-for-7 shooting and dishing out nine assists to go with three steals. Teron Murray added 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and Davon Jones contributed 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench in a strong two-way showing.
Sophomore forward Naeem Colston continued his efficient start to the season with 10 points, nine rebounds, and four assists, while Devin Falk-Ramirez chipped in 13 points, hitting a pair of threes and bringing energy on both ends. The Apaches dominated every major category, including a 47–23 rebounding edge, 34 points off turnovers, and a staggering 62–28 advantage in points in the paint.
AZ Sol was paced by Alex Rupp with 10 points, while Aiden Beavers added 9. The visitors were limited to 38% shooting and went 0-for-2 from the free-throw line.
Cochise (7–2) will look to keep its momentum going next week when the Apaches host GCU Men's Basketball Club Team on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7:00 p.m. in the Stronghold Gymnasium.
