Cochise falls to Arizona Western College 62-20 in NJCAA Region I Semifinals

DOUGLAS, Ariz. — For the first time since 2020, the Cochise College Apaches will not be in the NJCAA Region I finals, as they lost a very hard fought semi final game last night to rival Arizona Western College 62-20 in front of a great fan base in the Stronghold gymnasium.

Cochise was down 41-31 at halftime only to fight back to tie the game at 54.  Arizona Western was able to hold onto a 62-60 win as Ben Hendersons last second 3 was off target.  Henderson led the Apaches with 27 points in the loss. 

Cochise Men's Basketball ends the season 21-10 overall.

"Our guys really gave great effort and held the Mats to only 4 Field Goals in the second half. We got behind early but showed great grit and put ourselves in a position to win, but credit to AWC. This group was just an amazing team to coach all year---so proud of them."
