Cochise uses a three point barrage from Jackson Tumbridge to blast Central Arizona 119-70
DOUGLAS, Ariz — The Cochise Apaches Men's Basketball team used a very efficient offensive attack on Saturday afternoon to route to the visiting Central Arizona College Vaqueros in an ACCAC D1 matchup in the Cochise Stronghold Gymnasium.
Cochise jumped out to a 57-34 halftime lead thanks to a very sizzling 58% FG percentage. The route continued in the second half as Freshman guard Jackson Tumbridge led the way with 32 points on the night on 10 for 16 from the three-point arc. Sophomore wing Ben Henderson continued his excellent overall floor play with 23 points, seven assists, and five rebounds in the win. Sophomore guard Isaiah Smith chipped in 17 points.
Cochise moves to 12-5 overall and 4-1 in Region I play.
IN HIS WORDS….
Cochise Head Coach Jerry Carrillo
"Obviously, Jacko [Tumbridge] was feeling it tonight, and it rubbed off on everyone. More importantly, than anything we did not let CAC score in transition till about 2 minutes left in the game. This was by far our best game of the year in sharing the ball as we had 38 assists and only 9 turnovers."
