Cochise overpowers Phoenix College Bears with a 98-86 win
Apaches win 11th in a row, and in sole possession of 1st place in the ACCAC
DOUGLAS, Ariz.-- Cochise used a very strong offensive attack yesterday afternoon to dismantle the visiting Phoenix College Bears in an ACCAC matinee match-up in the Cochise Stronghold Gymnasium.
Cochise jumped out to a 52-37 halftime lead and never trailed the entire game. Cochise led by 18, 71-53 with ten minutes left to go in the game and cruised to another double-digit victory.
Cochise was led by Sophomore, Stephen "Tank "Byard who tallied a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman, Tracy Godfrey Jr., also had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. The win coupled with a Chandler-Gilbert loss, allows the Apaches to take over sole possession of first place in the ACCAC at 7-0. Cochise is now 13-2 overall on the season.
