No. 17 Apaches Cruise Past Eastern Arizona, 11–3, to Open Series
THATCHER, Ariz. — The No. 17 Cochise College Apaches opened their ACCAC road series in dominant fashion Friday afternoon, shutting out Eastern Arizona College 11–3 in Thatcher. With the win, Cochise improves to 38–10 overall (15–7 ACCAC).
Montez Powers Offensive Explosion
Cochise used a balanced offensive attack and a big late inning to pull away, scoring 11 runs on eight hits.
The Apaches steadily built their lead before breaking things open with a six-run seventh inning to put the game out of reach.
Anthony Montez led the charge with a monster performance, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs, accounting for nearly half of Cochise's offense.
Shiryu Sato added a strong day with a hit, two RBIs, and two runs scored, while Zach Cavanaugh drove in two runs. Andrugh Yee chipped in with two hits and an RBI, and Landon Blais scored twice as Cochise produced throughout the lineup.
Pitching Dominance Sets the Tone
On the mound, Noah Miller delivered a strong outing, earning the win after working 5.1 innings, allowing three runs while striking out seven.
Dylan Torres was sharp in relief, tossing 1.2 scoreless innings to close out the shutout and secure the victory.
Cochise pitching limited Eastern Arizona offensively and prevented any late momentum from building.

The Apaches controlled the game from start to finish, combining timely hitting with solid pitching to take game one of the series.
