National Athletic Trainers Month 2026: “Care You Can Count On”
March is National Athletic Trainers Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the vital role athletic trainers play in keeping student-athletes safe, healthy, and performing at their best. The 2026 theme, "Care You Can Count On," highlights the trusted, consistent, and expert medical care athletic trainers provide every day — from injury prevention and emergency response to treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play decisions.
At Cochise College, we are proud to honor our two certified athletic trainers, Johanna Urquijo and Ana Arredondo, whose dedication and professionalism serve every Apache team throughout the academic year. Whether it's long practice days, back-to-back competitions, road trips, or late-night evaluations, Johana and Ana are there — providing the care our student-athletes can count on.
Athletic trainers are highly trained healthcare professionals who collaborate with physicians and coaches to ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt in every game played and every recovery achieved.
This month, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Johanna and Ana for their unwavering commitment to Cochise College Athletics. Thank you for the compassion, expertise, and dependable care you provide to our Apache family.
Happy National Athletic Trainers Month!
