The Cochise College women’s soccer team welcomes two new student-athletes for the upcoming 2019-2020 season.
Cochise is coming off of its best season as the Lady Apaches won its first conference title in school history. Under the leadership of Coach Bobby Peters (2019 ACCAC Coach of the Year), the Apaches look to better their results for the upcoming season.
The first additions to the roster include midfielders Kayla Renaud and Astrid Galvez. “They are talented young women who will help the team compete for the conference title again next season,” said Coach Peters.
Kayla Renaud is from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Renaud was a team captain at Centennial High School. Her team was runners-up in the New Mexico State High School Championships. She is a defensive mid with excellent field vision and has the ability to distribute the ball well.
Astrid Galvez comes to us from Sierra Vista, Arizona. She is a 5’3 midfielder that can play central or out on the wing. Galvez currently plays center mid for Coronado Athletic Club. She is a multi-sport athlete at Buena High School, competing at the varsity level in both basketball and soccer.
