#18 Cochise College Women’s Basketball celebrated its ten sophomores with a 98-42 victory over Glendale College. The Apaches jumped out to a 32-6 lead after the first quarter and continued to dominate throughout the game. Yemiyah Morris led all scorers with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Three other Apaches scored in double figures, including Awa Keita with 17, Raena Suggs with 14 and Kayla Harris with 12.
“It was a great night to honor our large sophomore class. They have done so much for our program. They have helped Cochise College be recognized as one of the best women’s basketball programs in the country. Also, they are not only great players but great people and students,” Coach Laura Hughes said. “We look forward to following their future successes both on and off the court.”
The Apaches have now won 17 games in a row, are ranked 18th in the nation, won the conference championship for the 3rd year in a row and led the country in scoring defense.
The Apaches travel to Phoenix College Tuesday, February 26 for their final regular season game. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
