#21 Cochise College women’s basketball had another dominating road win over Tohono College, 77-35. This marks the 14th win in a row for the Lady Apaches. Awa Keita led all scorers with 23 points, while Yemiyah Morris added 10 points. Overall it was a balanced scoring attack and impressive defensive performance. The Apaches held Tohono to a total of 14 points in the 2nd half of action.
“We made some adjustments in the 2nd half, and the team responded well,” Coach Laura Hughes said. “Tohono dared us to shoot from the outside, and our perimeter shooters stepped up to the challenged.”
With the victory, the Apaches secured at least a tie for a conference championship. The Apaches continue to be ranked #21 in the nation and lead the country in scoring defense. They are now 23-3 on the season and 17-1 in conference.
The Apaches return home to take on Chandler Gilbert College, Saturday, February 16. Tip-Off is set for 5:30 p.m.
