Cochise College women’s basketball won their seventh game in a row with a victory over Phoenix College 102-48. It was the second time this season the Apaches have scored over 100 points. The Apaches jumped out to a 31-6 led after the first quarter. Leading scorers for the night were Awa Keita with 26 and Yemiyah Morris with 21 points and 19 rebounds. Five players recorded in double figures for the game. The Apaches are 16-3 on the season and 10-1 in ACCAC play.
“We dictated the game on both ends of the floor all night,” said Coach Laura Hughes. “Freshman point guards Janessa Johnson, and Raena Suggs did a great job of making shots and taking care of the ball. They set the tone for us offensively.”
The #22 ranked Apaches take on #16 (Division Two) Pima College, Wednesday, January 23. Tip-Off is set for 5:30 p.m. on the Cochise College Douglas Campus.
