Women’s Basketball Dominates for 104-33 Point Win Over South Mountain

Cochise College women’s basketball recorded its highest point total of the season with a 104-33 win over South Mountain College.  Five Apaches scored in double figures for the night with Raena Suggs leading all scorers with 25 points.  Kayla Harris added 16 with Janessa Johnson and Awa Keita chipping in 15 points each.

For the third game in a row, the Apaches held their opponents to under 40 points.  The Apaches are ranked in the top five in scoring defense nationally.

“We played well on both ends of the floor tonight,” Coach Laura Hughes said.  “We had a great balanced scoring attacked scoring well from inside and out. I am happy with our continued improvement and overall team effort.”

The Apaches are currently ranked #23 in the national Division 1 poll with a 14-3 overall record.
