After taking a two-week break off the #23 ranked Cochise College Women’s Basketball team returned to action at Pima College for the Bruce Flex Classic. The first game of the tournament ended in a tough 2-point loss 62-60 vs. #8 ranked South Plains. The Apaches bounced back with solid victories over Bismarck State 79-57 and Western Texas 97-45.
Returning to conference play on Saturday, January 5, the Apaches came away with a dominating 76 33 victory over Tohono O’odham College. The Apaches took advantage of their superior height and controlled the inside game from start to finish. Yemiyah Morris led all scorers with 27 points and ten rebounds.
The Apaches are now 12-3 overall and 6-1 in conference. Opponents are averaging only 48 points per game against the Apaches, which ranks them in the top 5 in the nation.
Women’s basketball will travel to Chandler-Gilbert College on Wednesday, January 9 for a scheduled
5:30 pm tip-off.
