Women’s soccer tie against Scottsdale CC

Tuesday, October 9, the Cochise College Women’s Soccer Team journeyed to take on Scottsdale. The midafternoon was set perfect for match conditions, low 80s with a slight breeze. With the Apaches remembering the sting of falling to the Artichokes on their home turf, they were ready to go to battle this time.

The match consisted of back and forth high strung play with both squads creating scoring opportunities but failing to capitalize. Scottsdale was awarded fifteen corner kicks all together, but with the back line led by Freshman Captain Amanda Acuna consisting of Freshman Elizabeth Botello, Freshman Kiara Villaescusa, and Sophomore Crystal Munoz, along with Freshman Goalkeeper Brenna Seiler, Cochise was able to shut every play down.

Regulation would end up extending to double overtime as the Apaches had breathtaking close scoring chances but did not succeed in netting one in. The result would be a 0-0 tie.

Cochise is on the road again Thursday, October 11 to challenge Gateway Community College.
