Lady Apaches tie against Glendale

Thursday, October 4, the Cochise College Women’s Soccer Team journeyed to compete against Glendale. The Lady Apaches we’re off to a shaky start, allowing the Gauchos to score only 4 minutes into the match. But Cochise refused to call it quits early in the game, they laid on the offense and found success in the sixteenth minute for Freshman Esther Coleman to rally the score 1-1. The tied score would remain going into halftime.

Twenty-eight minutes following the double whistle, Sophomore Aylene Lopez would net one from outside the eighteen to give the Apaches the lead. With Cochise out shooting Glendale 11-4, it seemed they had the match wrapped up until the Gauchos slipped through with a minute and thirty-six minutes left on the clock.

The game would go into a scoreless double-overtime resulting in a 2-2 tie.

The Lady Apaches are back to defend their home turf this Saturday, October 6 against Mesa for a 1:30 kickoff.
