On Saturday, September eighth, The Cochise College Women’s Soccer team took the home pitch to face Scottsdale for a mid-afternoon match. Seconds after the starters took their positions, and weather conditions were in no favor. The first ten minutes following kickoff consisted of cold, sideways rain. Unable to fight through the elements, connect, and organize, the Apaches allowed the Artichokes an early 2-0 lead eighteen minutes in. Although putting up six shots in the first half, Cochise was unable to fire back.
The second half would follow suit, Scottsdale netting two more in to make the final score 4-0. The loss was the first of the Women Apaches’ season as they go into Tuesday’s 3:00 pm home game, 3-1-1 in region play.
