Women’s Basketball No. 16 in NJCAA Poll Cruises to Road Win

The Cochise College Women dominated its road contest over South Mountain from start to finish 78-47.

The Apaches jumped to a 21-6 lead after the first quarter and held on to a large lead throughout the contest. The Apaches were led by Jazzy Hughes and Awa Keita’s 19 points, Yemiyah Morris added 15 points. Overall, the Apaches shot 48% from the field and continue to lead the conference in shooting percentage.

Coach Laura Hughes stated, “We jumped to an early lead and dominated from the tip. We did a great job of getting the ball inside and our post dominated the paint.”

The Lady Apaches are now ranked No. 16 in the Division One NJCAA Poll.
