Win gives Head Coach Jerry Carrillo 500 career wins at Cochise College

The Cochise College men’s basketball team opened the new year with a very strong defensive effort on their home court handing the visiting Coyotes a 14 point defeat and giving Head Coach Jerry Carrillo his 500th career win at Cochise College.

Cochise led 46-32 at halftime and 59-43 with 10 minutes to go. Cochise was led by Sophomore Chaz Mack who tallied another double-double with 21points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore point guard Bryan Urrutia continued his solid play with 12 points and 10 assists for the night. Freshman, Mahki Morris came off the bench to add 19 points. Cochise head coach Jerry Carrillo said, “I was very proud of our overall defensive effort tonight. Chandler-Gilbert has multiple players who can score the ball and we defended with great effort and integrity.” The Apaches extended their home winning streak to 30 games dating back to Feb. 3, 2016. Cochise is now 12-2 overall and 5-1 in ACCAC play, in a three-way tie for first place in the ACCAC standings.
