Apaches lose lead late

The Lady Apaches dropped a close contest to the visiting Bears of Phoenix College this past Tuesday. They came out of game 3-1, dropping the Apaches to 1-4 in the early part of the season.

Once again, the Apaches were able to register the first goal of the game. Kira Sevor (FR. San Jose, CA) scored her second goal of the season in the 39th minute with the assist from Crystal Munoz (FR. Douglas, AZ). The Apaches were able to create a few scoring chances in the first half, but were unable to add to the lead and entered the break with the 1-0 advantage.

The second half saw the Apaches go on the defensive and looked to break on the counter. This almost paid off with a second goal, but Magali Brizuela (FR. Asuncion, Paraguay) put her shot just wide of the Phoenix goalkeeper. This would come back to haunt the Lady Apaches as Phoenix would score three goal in the final 78th, 85th, and 86th minute to leave with the 3-1 final score.

The Lady Apaches will look to rebound with a quick turnaround against South Mountain this Thursday in Phoenix. Game is scheduled for an early kick off of 1pm.
