The Cochise College men’s team extended their home winning streak to 13 games this season. The Apaches have looked very good in every home outing this season, and Wednesday night against the Scottsdale Artichokes was no different. Scottsdale came out very aggressive and took a 7-2 lead over the Apaches, but after that it was all Cochise. Sophomore Dallas Polk-Hilliard had the hot hand the first half scoring 15 of his 27 points in the first 20 minutes of action, giving the Apaches a 45-38 lead at halftime.
Scottsdale kept it close in the early part of the second half, not letting the Apaches open the game up, but with 9:27 left to go, Bryan Urrutia hit one of his four 3-pointers to push the lead to 17 points. Cochise wouldn’t look back from that point. The win gave Head Coach Jerry Carrillo his 16th 20-win season in his 22-year career at Cochise. The Apaches will host Chandler-Gilbert CC this Saturday with tipoff coming at 7:30 p.m.
