Cochise takes Arizona Gila Monsters at home

The Cochise College Apaches hosted the Eastern Arizona Gila Monsters on Wednesday night and came out on top with a 105-81 win. The Apaches jumped out to a 16-0 lead over the Gila Monsters and never looked back. With 3:21 to play in the 1st half, Cochise led 60-40 before seeing Eastern go on a 9-3 run to close the half. The 63 point first half by the Apaches is a season high in scoring for the first half, this season.

Freshman Shadeed Shabazz led the Apaches in scoring with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Sophomore Dallas Polk-Hilliard and Brandell Evans both had solid games scoring 21 and 15

points, respectively. Freshman Frank Agyemang had a very effective night scoring 16 points on 7-9 shooting from the field. While both Bryan Urrutia (13 points) and Ludovic Kader (11 points) also finished in double-digits. Cochise will travel to Yuma this Saturday to play at “The House” against Arizona
