Apaches take series with win over Coyotes

The Apaches take the lead late in the game in a 5-3 victory over College of Southern Nevada on
Saturday. The game was tied at two with Cochise College Apaches Varsity batting in the top of the sixth
when Max Draijer and Alexander Marco both singled, driving in a run each.
Brett Matthews earned the win as he threw four innings, surrendering zero runs, one hit, and
striking out one. James Yanchisin recorded the last six outs to earn the save. Offensively the Apaches
collected 14 hits. Alexander Marco, Luis Hidalgo, Canice Ejoh, Max Draijer, and Dominic DeMarco each
collected multiple hits, Hidalgo and Marco all had three hits to lead the offense.
This win would end the series against Southern Nevada and put the Apaches 3-1 to begin the
season.

They have 2 days of practice and head back out to Nevada to play 4 Scenic West Conference
teams. The First game is on Thursday vs. Southern Nevada at 6 p.m., followed by Friday (DH) vs. College of
Southern Idaho and Salt Lake CC with the last game on Saturday vs. Utah State University Eastern CC.
