Phoenix, Ariz — The Cochise College Lady Apaches suffered a 0-6 setback this past Saturday, October 11th against home team Paradise Valley Pumas. The loss damages the playoff hope of this year’s team, putting the Apaches in 8th place currently in the ACCAC.

The Apaches gave up two early goals in the 13th and 15th minute which they were unable to recover from. The Apaches continued to close down space in the midfield and deal with the quick passing game of Paradise Valley. The Pumas would add a third goal in the 23rd minute to take a 0-3 lead into halftime.

The second half continued in much the same way as the first with the Apaches looking to defend deep and counter in the spaces left by advancing defenders. The approach paid off in chances, but not goals the scored remained 0-3 until the 58th minute when Paradise Valley would increase the lead to 0-4.

The Pumas would add two late goals to bring the final score to 0-6. The Lady Apaches will look to improve both offensively and defensively as they welcome Chandler-Gilbert to Douglas on Thursday October 15th at 3pm. This game is makeup game from an earlier game that was postponed due to rain.
